All aboard!

“The Polar Express” is celebrating its 15th Anniversary!  And PPL is continuing its tradition of featuring the animated 2004 mega-hit movie each December.

“The Polar Express” is the film version of Chris Van Allsburg’s beloved children’s Christmas book of the same name.  The story centers around a young boy who has doubts about Christmas and Santa Claus, and ends up going on a surprise adventure to the North Pole via a magical train called The Polar Express.  Tom Hanks stars as the voice of the conductor of the magical train, along with providing the voice for five other characters in the film.

Dress in your most comfortable Christmas pajamas and bring your favorite blanket at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21st to join us in the Laramore Meeting Room.  Hot cocoa and cookies will be served as you watch the movie in a “train car” of your choice!

Beginning at 12:15 p.m., attendees can make special Polar Express photo frames and take family photos with a Polar Express background!  Pictures will be available after the movie.

“This is our fifth year showing the movie and having a pajama party,” said Lynn Soike of the Children’s Department.  “We have had a pretty good size crowd each of the previous years.  This year the photo frame craft and the pictures to take home after the movie is something new.  We expect more people than usual because of those reasons!  Christmas is only four days after this event, so it is definitely one of the last chances everyone will have to get out of the house and enjoy family time before the big day!”
