We discussed Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda yesterday, and had a really insightful discussion about forgiveness, bullying, and reasons why some of our least-favorite characters were the way they were. It was a lot of fun!

Next up, we’ll be reading this:

From the Publisher: “Sixteen-year-old Willowdean wants to prove to everyone in her small Texas town that she is more than just a fat girl, so, while grappling with her feelings for a co-worker who is clearly attracted to her, Will and some other misfits prepare to compete in the beauty pageant her mother runs.”

It’s recently been made into a musical film for Netflix, and a sequel has been released called Puddin’! I’m excited to see what mischief Will and her friends get into!

If you’d like to join Book Club, you can pick up a copy of this book at the Information Station in the Children’s Department, or read the digital copy here with your library card. Book Club members should be 14 – 18 years old (Freshman-Senior in High School), and enjoy discussing YA fiction!
