Hard to believe it’s that time of year already, but school starts in two weeks! Luckily, there are some great sites to use for gearing up and getting ready to head back.
hollar.com is a great place to order cheap supplies. Like an online dollar store, hollar has some great deals on everything from pencils to uniforms.
Just gotta have that designer backpack? You can find some great deals at 6pm.com. But don’t expect any of these bags to be less than $30.
Homework and Study
Khan Academy is great for skill building and refreshing your memory after the inevitable summer slide. Just click on the Subject menu at the top of the page to get started!
Study Geek is ‘where PhDs help with math homework’ – and that sounds amazing! There’s all kinds of tutorials and step-by-step explanations for every kind of math from algebra to trigonometry to statistics to calculus for whatever your class throws at you.
BJ Pinchbeck’s Homework Helper isn’t really a homework help site itself, but it’s a repository for all kinds of OTHER homework and reference sites. Need help with that Spanish homework? BJ’s got you covered. Same with biology, world geography, and computer science.
Hippo Campus is an amazing repository of instructional videos, focusing on real-world applications for concepts (like the math behind barcode scanners!). There are over 6,800 videos in 13 different subject areas. If you ever wanted to know what algebra is really used for, now you can find out!
Okay, I know this looks like a kid’s site, but seriously, if you’ve ever wondered what an internet cookie really is… this is the place to find out! That question, and thousands of others, have in-depth answers with links to sources and more information. Best part? You can submit your own question to be answered by Wonderopolis experts!
